ÁùºÏ²Ê¿â’s University supports persons with disabilities in their right to file a grievance when they believe they have been denied equal access in the form of appropriate accommodations, modifications, auxiliary aids, or effective communication or suffered discriminatory harassment as described in Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 amended 2008 or the Fair Housing Act of 1988.

It is university policy that no qualified person be excluded from participating in any university program or activity or otherwise be subjected to discrimination regarding any university program or activity. This policy derives from the commitment to non-discrimination for all persons in employment, access to facilities, student programs, activities and services. Individuals with a complaint are entitled to prompt and equitable resolution and may choose the appropriate university process.

Complaint process

Students registered with Student Disability Services are encouraged to learn more about the dispute and resolution process that may be most applicable.  

Other individuals may begin the complaint process by filling out the . If you are unsure of how to begin or have general questions, please contact the ADA Coordinator.

After receiving the ADA Complaint Form, the ADA Coordinator or their designee shall convene the ADA Team to review the complaint in a timely manner.  The team includes, but is not limited to, the Sr. Director of Business Services (or designee), the AVP of Human Resources, and the ADA Coordinator. Additional members representing a specific, credentialed professional expertise pertinent to the situation may also be included. The ADA Team will gather information from all involved parties prior to making a determination. The complainant may also request a meeting with the ADA Coordinator as needed through the process.

The ADA Coordinator (or designee) will submit a summary of the findings, recommendations and process for appeal to the involved parties, informing them of a decision within twenty-one (21) business days of receiving the complaint.  The decision of the ADA Team may be appealed to the appropriate administrative party.

Individuals with grievances or complaints against the university based on violations of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act or the Americans with Disabilities Act as Amended (ADAAA) also have the right to file a complaint with a designated federal agency.
